harvested a doe on the weekend , average looking doe. After skinning the beast I found a huge branch inbedded between the front shoulder blades beside the spine. It was in there for a very long time, flesh and skin was completely covering the branch. The branch was the size of my thumb. I have never seen anything like it before. Has any one else seen or heard of this sort of thing before? sorry no pics, I miss placed it :(
(side note, most tender deer to date.)

depending on how the nerves sit it would hurt but it would have just gotten used to being in pain.
a guy I played rugby with was shot in the leg at a bar and didn't realize until the next day when he woke up...he was tanked though .....maybe the deer found a bush grow op and just didn't care any more....

i found a stick imbedded in a moose in the same spot that was over a foot long and about the size of an arrow in diameter. not a arrow but a dry spruce limb. have also had a horse run a dry branch in the same spot that was over a foot long. stuff like that happens more times than you think.

a guy I was working with a little while ago told me of a story that was told him by some other guy's wife and so forth. Probably not true but entertaining, CO's shot a problematic grizzly. When gutted, they found human remains, 6 .38 special rounds, AND the .38 special.

Again, probably an old wives tale or something.

Another old campfire bullshitting story...two guys out grizz hunting, both shoot a huge bear in the head, they gut it out and start to skin it, while caping it, they find their bullets flattened against it's skull.

Have found a .243 size bullet in a moose front leg below the knee.
Last years spring bear had a .30 bullet through the left shoulder and ended up at the base of his neck. perfect mushroom:-D figured was from the year before bear did have a pronounced limp. A barnes TTSP fixed that up for him.
buddy's bull moose from this year had a piece of antler stuck in the bulls left palm.
A few years ago shot a bull that had his ass kicked we found where what we assume was an antler that went into his hind quarter about 14" or so. Was pretty gross full of green puss and stunk!

No doubt about it their tough.

Speaking of sticks stuck in animals. Was dirtbiking near Tunkwa/Duffy lake. Ripping up a trail, I bashed thru some branches, and heard crack! Then felt an itch in my leg, looked down to see a stick had broken off in my calf just above my boot and was sticking out of my pants. Pulled it out, seen the blood, and panic set in. Ripped back to camp, got the misses to drive me to town to get cleaned up and stitches. Took over a year for my body to purge out the wood bits from my calf.
Calf is an animal right? Lol
You think a helmets gonna stop that.
