My 13 yr old son was very happy last weekend after shooting his first whitetail. I drove him into a newly logged area and after reaching the crest of a skidder hill in my truck he told me to stop, got out and glassed the deer. He quickly said it's a buck (2-point he thought), raised his 7mm-08 rifle and shot. After climbing over the log debris and climbing the hill where the buck had fallen my son found out it was a 4-point (possibly a 5x4).
We cleaned the deer and dragged it down the hill where I winched it the rest of the way over the log brush pile with the help of a couple friends nearby. This occurred at 1pm in the afternoon, we continued hunting the area till dark and then headed home. Great day of hunting!

Sorry, I had accidentally deleted the picture last night when I was trying to upload a larger version of the same picture. I am having problems with posting full size pictures on this forum, others have full size pictures that are oviously larger than 87kB in size ...how is this done? Posting a link to photobucket doesn't seem like the best choice and I have tried several methods of saving to the forum and copy/pasting. A bit frustrating.
