View Full Version : What power spotting scope

I know quality glass is important, but what power would you guys suggest to go with in a spotting scope. I'm looking for something compact for backpacking and decent for elk/sheep/mulies that kind of stuff.

20 x 60 as well.

I think someone did a reivew of the Vortex compact which tops out at 75x - I havent looked through one of those but maybe you can search for the thread on here.

I have one, and it's a damn good little scope. 25-75 x 70mm. Sharp, bright, tough as hell, and takes up very little room in the pack. Just upgrade the tripod and it's a good setup. Excellent warranty as well.
