i finally got to connect on my first buck this long weekend up in the christian valley, and man it was the best weekend of my life. Me and my buddy were up in the CV trying to get our whitey does this weekend, didnt get any whiteys but the buck is a bonus. left for CV at 12:30 from vancouver on friday night got to our destination at about 6:30, unhitched the trailer and started hunting, this was our first time in this area so we started hunting on the quads just to explore some area and saw nothing at all headed back to camp for lunch and to set up camp then off hunting again this time we managed to spot 2 whitey does too bad it wasnt the opener yet, but they were gone before i knew it, so bloody fast. next morn hit the hills at about 6:30 and spotted this muley at about 8:00 and he was mine. Man the feeling of my first buck is insane i will never forget this best feeling ever.

Thanks everybody,i still cant stop talking about it lol cant wait to get out later in the season for some big buck action well see how that unfolds. ive been a hunting addict for few years now but have had a serious buck drought . but as time goes by and my experience grows my succeses rate should go up good luck to everyone

The first one always seems to be the hardest to get. Now the flood gates will open up for your hunting career. Nice buck to start it off.

Nice Buck. Did you drop it off at Country Meadow Meats at around 4:30 Monday? If so, I came in with the Tacoma right behind you. I picked up my first buck, a 2 pointer that day. How did you take him down?

First big game animal ever im not gonna do a shoulder mount. i have kept the antlers and will just probobly put them on a plack, then up on the wall it goes. i boiled the skull plate with the antlers connected to clean it up a bit more worked great. he was standing looking at me at 100 yards in a slash, lung shot with my 300 win mag bullet went in, did its thing and went right out it was a 180 grain barnes mrx. heavy bullet for deer but its deadly accurate in my gun
