For turkey hunting was last night.... and it was eventful.
I started walked down a road that I had heard some birds the last time I went out. Anyways I came to a lil clearing and saw something I wanted to check out, so I crouched down and took a look, it was a stump. Anyways as I was sitting there I heard a grunt and looked up to see a bear. I just had my 17 hmr with me, so I waited a sec and up behind her walks a cub, bout the size of a cat.
Now once I see this, the blood starts pumping, mom, cub and hungry and me only with the 17. Time to get the heck outta dodge. I got out of the double time, didnt want to risk anything. Good thing that she didnt see me and I had the wind to my advantage.
That pretty much ruined my hunting area and I never did find any birds. Next year will hopefully be better though...
