Out hunting in the kootenays this year in late September and one of my buddies shoots his first 4 point. Upon a closer inspection we discover that this was a Doe with antlers. The thing had no nuts or pecker, but had all of the right parts for a doe, I was even still in velvet (and like I said late September). I had heard of this with whitetails before but all of the antlers tend to be either small or messed up, this things got a nice frame on him her whatever it is.
Any ways take a look at the pics
Here is the happy hunter with his first 4 point

All in all it was a good trip, we got 2 4 point mulys and I got a o.k. whitetail. No elk this year, hopefully they will be making more noise next year.
Here is a pic of my little whitey

I think you have the trophy of a life time.
if you hunt for a 100 years you would never get another 150" doe.
Congratulations.

it happens i have heard of it a few times and i have also heard that they are always in velvet still. i dont know why but maybe they dont know how to rub it off. one thing i wonder is if they grow the horns every year caus e its obviously caused by a testostorone imbalance. i shot a buck last yea in middle of oct still in velvet i thought it was a doe with horns at first but nope it was a buck. his velvet was soft but hard it didnt pull off or anything was kind of wierd.

I've heard of this before.

Apparently Doe's with antlers never shed their antlers because they do not produce enough testosterone to cause the velvet to shed or the antler to drop. They just slowly keep growing each year from what I understand.

dont eat the meat, you pecker and balls will fall off :) JK
thats a nice size doebuck
question is is it considered a buck or doe? it has antlers but no package?
would you have gotten away with shooting it if it was doe season only?

Wonder if it would score well in the b/c for shemales. Shot a whitey a couple years ago with no tail (clean rear end...) weird how genetics can work.

What I really want to know is does it taste funny? Something is really messed up in it's genes and I don't think I'd want to eat any of her, er him.

I actually shot a doe with antlers in the peace country a long time ago. I did some research on it and apparently 1 in 50,000 does grow antlers. Mine was really ugly though, not like that one. Congrats, nice deer.

Do they actually have a section in the record book for shemales like this one?
