View Full Version : Last minute bull for dad

Well we just got back from our region 8 elk hunt last night. Our trip was a week long with lots of elk seen nothing legal except for one 6 point i wasnt quick enough on. Friday night my dad and uncle headed back to were we had seen 7 cows and had a distant bull bugle the day before, with an hour and a half of light left dad headed up into the timber to call with an answer right a way and a 45 min game of cat and mouse the bull stuck his head out enough for the old man to put 6 on him. With a 60 yrd shot, the 180gr accubond out of his 300win put him down.Im pretty proud of him,5 years ago he got into elk hunting and we are 4 elk out of 5years all in the Okanagan. Nice looking bull. Congrats. I wish my Dad hunted. I don't think there is any better family time.

I just love hunting with my dad. When you get to elk hunt with him it's even better because it such a team game... calling, stalking, calling, and hopefully shooting. congrats to your dad on a great elk.

Elk 4 out of 5 years in the Okanagan is very very good.
