Went out for a hunt last week with Fireonethree and a buddy, who is interested in hunting. We saw a big bruin right away and it was one that Thunderstix and Fireonethree had put a few stalks on and he was smarter then them. My buddy an d I paddled up a creek and Fireonethree hung out where we saw the bruin. We saw lots of scat and found a place where a bear had recently crossed the creek and headed out on foot. the bush was way thick and we could hear him crashing around but could not see him, we went back to the bank and continued walking along when he huffed at us. We then saw his back next to a large tree and he gave me the chance to squeeze a shot off from inside of 40m. We gave him a bit and headed in after him, he was only about another 30m in the bush and a couple quick shots and he was dispatched and the hard work began. The creek we paddled up was losing water fast because of the tide and we had to walk the canoe down it for the first bit. On the way back we saw the bruin right on the bank and Fireonethree tried to get in on him but he buggered off.
Thanks to my buddy and fireonethree. The date was to the date one year from my first bear.

Congrats on a nice looking bruin!!
Was he feeding on some of that skunk cabbage we can see in the pic? They like to find that stuff early in the season.

Great going!! Nice bruin for sure.

BTW thats a very nice receipt, I used that exact load for the bear I got a week or so ago. Very impressed.

No I actually tried a gerber axe my wife bought me and a knife my buddy got for me they both worked quite well, but the blade on the axe chipped going throught the pelvis.
