Stupid question? 2 shell capacity only!

I have always hunted Grouse with my 10/22, and was about to try it with my shotgun when I came upon the regs. in regards to shotguns. As per the regs, "It is unlawful to hunt with a pump, repeating or auto-loading shotgun with a magazine capable of holding more than 2 shells." I own a Winchester Camp Defender that has a capacity of 6 shells in the magazine, thus I cannot hunt with it even if I only have 2 in the tube. Am I correct? does anybody know if there is a longer plug available for my shot gun.

you are correct and there are plugs available.

You have to have a plug in the tube so it will only hold two shells plus one in the chamber.

Thanks, I was sure I was correct. I have seen several people hunting with pumps and didn't know if I was misreading it.

THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD EXCUSE TO BUY A NEW THUNDER STICK. Any reasonably priced suggestions?

get a piece of 1/2" doweling ( or what ever fits your mag) cut to the length you need and theirs your plug.

What kind of price are you taking about? Another pump or semi or double barrel?

last year i bought a new h&r 20ga. out the door is was around $175, one nice little shotgun.

If you use the shotgun for trapping or hunting big game and have a single projectile (slug) you don't need a plug.

i just picked up a single barrel Bakiel? 20ga. and it works awesome out the door for just over 200
