Hows does a Canadian Res hunt the Yukon?? And are there only specific species that can be hunted?? Buddy is transferring there with RCMP and i woill be taking full advantage of him:mrgreen:..

He can take you once every 3 years. Sheep are out, not sure about any other species being off limits. Moose and caribou are do-able. Think he has to be a resident for a year before he's allowed to hunt (might be different for RCMP).

He has to be a resident of the Territory for either a year or 6 months prior to being elgible for a hunitng license (I can't remember which it is but it doesn't matter if he is RCMP). After that, he can take you ONCE every THREE years and only into designated areas for moose and/or caribou - sheep, goats , bison and griz are out. He has to 'register' as a resident guide and you need to buy the Yukon license and tags.

All that being said, take advantage and go for it. I lived/hunted up there for 8 years and the animals ARE bigger and the country is beautiful.
