This info is for the garmin GPS users.
I recently bought a new laptop and had a fair bit of trouble loading the MapSource TopoCanada CD. I have a 76Cx hand held and the TopoCanada V2.00 CD that I've been using for a couple years.
I discovered there a number of free software upgrades for both the handhelds and the MapSource software on the Garmin Canada site.
It took me a couple evenings to get everything loaded, updated and running the way it is supposed to work. I haven't had a chance to field test it this week, but my MapSource program went from V2.00 to V6.112 by the time I finished
If you want to put a 4Gb card in your unit, you'll need one of the garmin updates. There a quite a few.
Cheers,
