Well i hope this works out
we arrived at the cabin in 100 mile Sept 9 high noon. After unloading & setting up we had lots of time to look aroundhttp://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy31/silvertipp/IMG_2346.jpg
opening morning Chad hardly slept a wink and he was ready to go at first light.Things started off great seeing lots of game but no bulls
http://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy31/silvertipp/IMG_2314.jpgfor the next couple of days hunting was slow with lots of rain but thanks to the deer & lots of grouse it kept us both busy & enthused

We carried on hunting spotting lots of game ,but still no bulls
Monday morning we awoke to good weather & bit of a cold spell,
by now after seeing all this game ,from cows and calfs to all sorts of bucks from 3 points & down & 12 bears with no shooters Chad was getting real ancy to shoot and alittle upset with dad who kept telling him [you never know could be around the next corner]Evening was comeing and we decided to hit a meadow that was showing alot of sign.We hiked in & took a seat, i figured it was early but we would try a little calling .
With the roads being packed with hunters we hiked into a small meadow on our way out ,HOLLY CRAP whats that its a nice bull ,CHAD set up alittle hyper but hit the bull with a perfect shot ye ha bull down
He was quit surprised at how big a moose is on the ground but was ready to help
A quick hike back to get the truck a little sawing on the old road and we we able to drive right into yhe meadow
it was a late evening but by 9 oclock we were back at camp with our meat on the pole.a well deserved sleep and we were on aour way home
Ive been on alot of great hunts before And even thoe this was just 100 mile it rates right up there in my books
ive never had so much fun as seeing the look on my sons face when he walked up to that moose
Good luck to all of you and hope you all have as much fun as we didhttp://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy31/silvertipp/IMG_2342.jpgo

Congrats - lovely moose. I'm jealous - I've shot a few deer and game birds, but "ol slober nose" still eludes me.

Great job. That reminds me of days with my dad. Love seeing family's hunting together.

Does he like that gun? the reason I ask is because I take dads and there sons hunting a lot and might buy a gun just for the kids to use.

its a great gun for anyone ,i like the remington ovr the browning simply for yhe clip bothe guns are very close the calibre is perfect for what he shooting ,i did have a 300 H & H with me but i figured at 150 yds & the broadside shot it was all he needed plus he is very confident with it
