Portable canopy shelters

Thinking about using the portable canopy from midland as a cooking shelter and a place to dry clothes. I would like to heat it with a wall tent stove. Tarps do not quite seal at the edges, maybe 2" gap. Anybody try this before?

I have a few friends who did just that, but slept in it too. My pardner and I just picked one up today for the very same purpose - the 10x10 is on sale at cambodian tire very cheap right now, but seems like it will fit the bill nicely. If it doesn't work for late october, we'll be close enough to home to retreat with our tails between our legs!:-D
