Well, this is my first post and glad to be able to share my success with many of the great post and pictures of hardcore hunters. The second evening had three of us headed to an area to see if we could see one of two nice bucks i had seen earlier in the morning. We split up to try and cover the basin from all angles and hopefully one of us could spot some bucks before they saw us. 2 good bucks were seen above the ridge i was making my way up so after the info was relayed to me, I decided to leave my daypack to make it easier to crawl up the ridge without being spotted (hopefully). I slowly travelled along the ridge and watching down in the basin and also ahead of me on the ridge when i noticed some movement across about two thirds up the basin across from me. I also noticed one of my partners was just coming along the ridge across from me higher up. I could see it was a nice four point buck and then a little higher up two more bucks appeared and right away I noticed the high rack I saw in the morning. At first it looked like my partner was going to get a shot at him but he didnt have the view I thought he had from my vantage point. So i quickly found a place to get a good rest and wait for an opportunity as the buck was approx. 300 yards away. Finally after a few minutes the buck turned broadside and I took aim and dropped the buck. To say I was excited is an understatement as I let out a loud holler and then noticed another nice buck about 75 yards to the left of where mine was. After that buck left the area I quickly crossed the basin to get to my buck and I was very impressed with his size and that he was almost completely still in full velvet. This was a hunt to remember and it was a team buck as our plan worked and I wouldnt have taken this buck without the help of my partners.http://i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc397/patdel1/utf-8BSU1HMDQwMzguanBn.jpg

I am going to try and keep the velvet on. I sprayed on some velvet tanning solution last night so hopefully it will cure without peeling.

That was my thought at the time I shot the buck was to try and find the other buck the following day but it took us 5 hours to haul the buck out of there and we were all too tired to go back
