Soooo... I just put my pack together for a 7 day goat hunt(followed by another 8 days for elk, All in, including 5lbs of salt and a camcorder.
I weigh 65lbs. I thought I should be relatively light considering the weight of all the individual pieces.

just wondering what YOUR pack usually weighs for a hunt this time of year for the same length of time??

Thanks

5 jetboil cans? More like 1 small one and 1 large one. Good for 7 days easy.

20 rounds for .270? I only take 12.

5lbs salt? If you're shoulder mounting your Goat then 2lbs should be good if you can cape him fairly well.

One pair of underwear?!?!

Sticky much?!?

Only need one extra pair.

Wear them foreward, then backwards, then inside out backwards then inside out forewards. And you have the pair your wearing when you leave home to do the same with. :)

On a side note, not meaning to hijack this thread. What do you guys do when you hike in with a 65 pound pack and then shoot a goat? Make 2 trips out?

my stove is for both of us.

I like power bars ;) I may not when I get back!

2 gloves and headlamp was recommended by some others who have been a few times??

we are going to have a camp at the river and a spike 5 km in/up. We can pack the meat ect down, sleep and go back for spike camp OR depending on the weight take it all in one trip, Ill let you know! :)
