Hi all

I was in at my local outdoors store today looking at the 60cs and was told by the salesman that they were discontinuing this line and moving to the 62. Does anyone know if there is any real difference between the two other than the price (250ish vs 350)?

Thanks for the help.

You have to get a subscription to be able to view the images on your unit.

I'be seen some really good prices on the 60Cx recently. It is a really good unit, but you should get a big memory chip and the TopoCanada CD. I've been using the 76Cx for a couple years and it is great.

It you want to get the most out of these units it pays to do your research and get to know what features are most useful for you.

The 60cx is a great unit, regardless if it is discontinued. I am a GIS Specialist, and load GPS units with maps every week for forestry purposes, and the 76cxs is a good unit too. The backroads mapbook option is definately worth the money, and I recommend them highly, for accuracy, clarity, etc.... If we only had this technology back in the 80s I'd have a few more dead critters for sure.! I make my own .img files custom for hunting, with my past info on them too(sightings, trails etc...) Benefits of the job.... hehe!

Hey Rodd...

I like travelling cut lines/trails and then trasnfering my tracks onto a topo map or something similar. Any pointers as to Magellan vs. Garmin, what software to use, which BC map resources etc.?

Thanks much

I recommend a garmin unit that will take a memory card along with the TopoCanada mapsource CD. They can be setup to automatically save your tracks with ALL the data in a dated file that is very convenient.

I track travels with my unit on land, water and a few times each year by helicopter. The garmin is the most popular with most people I know, and it makes it easy to share MapSource and google earth files.
