Ok so we all know opening season was the 10th sept right? Well before that it was bow only season in alot of places so like a good hunter I took my friends out into my sweet spots because I dont bow hunt so they can have a bit of fun before I scoop up the bucks come rifle season. Well boy did that kick me in the a$$. Its good that I got my friends on a few bucks and they missed them all, thank god then comes rifle season and wouldn't you know it not a buck in sight. All though there were ton of them in bow season even 2 days before but nothing for me. Im sure the deer get tipped off some how that the bullets will be flying soon and to stay in the bush. What do you think?

Any who a few pics to share as I saw a crap load of does

And for this one I think this is a den of some sort as I took a peak in side and its pretty comfy and roomy in there.

Certainly they know when hunting season begins, but they haven't YET made a connection to the earlier bow season (which gives bow hunters a huge advantage). Given a bit of time they'll make that connection too though. Don't forget, things WILL improve with the dark of the moon - wait for it.

It seems the bucks change attitudes over these few weeks regardless of whether they're bugged or not. Something that co-incedes with losing they're velvet? Perhaps the end of summer shut-down for logging?

Personally I'm glad the bow season traffic pushes all the baby spikes away from the road.

Go back there... quietly... maybe with one other person if it makes you more comfortable. The season is young.
