Elk&Moose Rut

Is it a bit early yet? When have folks noticed the rut getting started around PG? Thanks.

Elk are bugling now, as Curt said the moose really don't get going until 3rd and 4th week of september.

Young bull moose are in the rut for a longer period of time but are less intense throughout the rut, the Wildlife Bioligists from PG in late Aug have heard immies talking in the Purden Mtn area. However, mature breeding bulls will enter and exit the rut more quickly, be far more intense and peak approx the last week of Sept and first week of Oct.
