I read "Cyrus's" thread just now asking about 4-pt. clarification. He also commented about seeing 9 bucks during his outing. I've also seen many mulie bucks this year in the general Kamloops area. During bow season, I was able to hunt 5 1/2 days total, and saw 19 bucks ranging from a monster 5x5, to several spikes. A little concerning though was the doe and fawn count in relation to the seemingly higher buck count. I've been hunting the same areas for a few years, and, although I've always seen numerous bucks, this year's sightings included a higher number of 3 and 4 pointers....very encouraging.

I noticed during scouting this summer an unusual amount of muley bucks, all younger with a few mature. Warm winter = less winter kill.

October should be productive for a lot of guys chasing the young ones.

Held out for something big this year....unfortunately the only ones I was able to sneak close enough to wouldn't stay still or offer me a broadside.

saw another 8 today...passed up on a small 4 point and saw a larger one that took off before I could count the points....today I did see quite a few does and fawns as opposed to yesterday where I saw no does....only bucks.....thought I was dreaming!!

ive been working in hudsons hope for the past couple weeks and besides all the does right in town i probably saw more bucks than does up there. ive never seen so many bucks before, and lots of big shooter bucks as well.

Been seeing a lot of young bucks and plenty of does right along the highway between Williams Lake and 70 Mile house lately...thought I was dreaming too because there aren't supposed to be any deer in Region 5 :?.

I saw 14 bucks during youth season in Region 3 near Kelowna. Every last one was a two point. They were everywhere in groups of 2, 3, 4 and even 5.

That's what happens when the biologist barely leaves his office due to lack of funding to complete any significant amount of surveys.

There may be fewer deer in region 5 than a couple years back, but not nearly as bad as they are making it out to be.

funny, region 3 has the longest season for muley bucks too...makes a guy wonder about the restrictive seasons elsewhere as region 3 seems to see the most pressure too.

I am new to hunting in Kamloops. Does someone want to point me in the direction of where I can find one of these young Mulie bucks?
My knolwedge of FSR's etc is limited in the Kamloops area, but any help would be appreciated.

During my summer travels, throughout the province I see many deer, usually all does. Not this year, I think I have only seen Bucks, except for the odd Doe. Complete opposite this year. Bring on October!!!

Cant comment on the biologist but In my opinion in the area we hunt in region 5 it is as bad as they are talking about, however we are seeing more whitetail

Any after thoughts on the situation in 2011 now or do you think Kamloops is going to be good for 2011 bucks and antlers if it's a dry spring this season?
Jel .. good this past .2010
