Looking to book with an outfitter? Or just find some hunters with hounds who would take you out.

It doesn't really matter to me :)

I was thinking the same thing.

If a fella had a couple good hounds, and he came with you out into the bush and ran the dogs to tree a Cougar, what would you pay, or give, the guy?

What would be appropriate? Would an owner of hounds accept payment or would he do it for getting experience for his dogs ?

I would be more than willing to pay for the assistance of the dogs for a day. Getting a Cougar is a once in a lifetime hunting opportunity and I'd only want one for the wall.

Just thinking out loud

Well since you're already close by, Lancaster Fraser Canyon Out. would be a good bet. Those boys know their stuff and take some big cats.

I wonder how much one of those hunts would cost?

If you are compensating someone financially for taking you hunting, then that person better be a licensed guide outfitter or there could be legal issues.

If they were not a guide outfitter I would most likely pay for gas and lunch
