Here are a few pics from our recent trip to the Fraser River and Ucluelet (the west coast of Vancouver Island).

First day we spent on the Fraser River near the Harrison mouth. We got 6 sockeye and tried for sturgeon but did not connect.

Day two and three were at Ucluelet and we did well there. We hired the services of IronNoggin (Matt) and he is a true sea dog. First day we landed 14 chinook, one sockeye and three dogfish, second day was 18 chinook, two halibut and 4 dogfish. We brought home four coolers filled with fillets.

Already planning for next year’s trip.

Awesome trip! Those are some nice smileys!

You even got a chance to floss some sock's, and here I thought from a previous post you made that you found flossing fish to be morally unacceptable or at the very least not much fun. Those must have been "forced" smiles on your face.

Good memory Fuzzy.

I believe that I said I am not that interested in flossing as I almost exclusivley flyfish in the interior.

Now to be honest, I wasn't sure how we were going to fish for these that day as we were primarily going for sturgeon but as it turned out, we fished for 3/4 of the day to get the 6 we got as they had a commercial opening a day or two before that slowed things down. I had never fished for socks in the Fraser and thought that we may even be doing some bar fishing as discussed amongst the group.

Our guide told us to fish for these first and then use the gills for bait so that is how it worked. I would have much preferred to fish for dinos for the day but there are four of us after all.

It was a good trip and we are planning already for another next year.

Matt runs Islanders im 99.99% sure. The gold (and blue) Trophy's were apparently shipped from the factory in Asia in the last week or two....or so I kinda heard indirectly from a guy who does the R&D for Trophy, or some kinda job like that.

I'm 99.9% sure the trophies got to their burnaby warehouse just three weeks ago... Islanders are pretty sick too.
