It was awesome having 10 days off to go hunting but too bad everything else didn't cooperate. It rained almost every day not to mention where we hunt there was a lot of construction and there was a new gas drilling rig in our area so the traffic was crazy and noisy. We seen elk only 3 days on the whole trip and 2 of the days were before the season started. The other day it was so dark due to the rain, we couldn't tell if there was a bull in the bunch.

We seen these guys before the season opened for them.

Too bad about the lack of game, but I'd bet you still had a better time than if you'd stayed at work. Maybe next time!!

The elk around Adam's setup were coming in to eat the hay so he setup his blind there. I setup where I did because there was a good trail coming in to the field. I also put a trail cam up , tied down the top wire on the fence and put some hay on the other side of the fence.

These are some of the pics on the camera.

All in all we had a pretty good trip. I'll be doing some elk hunting this weekend closer to home.

See you out there!

Hey Jim, We had a tough go of it up there too! Seen fresh tracks and cows with calfs, spiker bulls, but no 3 or better!! Rained 3.5 out of 5 days!! No bugling being done, no answers. Covered a lot of ground but no elk. Seen tons of bears, coyotes, deer, and no moose either!! I will hunt the wapiti closer to PG aswell! See ya out there!! Moosin
