First buck by bow.

I decided to take up bow hunting this spring and started seriously hitting the range. I Finally got to put the acquired skills to the test this last weekend and knocked down a little whitetail spiker. being that it was my first deer by bow I wasn't as picky as usual so the single spikes don't bother me too much. should be decent eating and meat in the freezer. Not much of a story, put the creep on through some long grass and knew where he'd be comin out of the treeline then waited, stood up at 50m to surprise him and dropped him with a shot through the shoulder, chipped up the shoulder, cut through the lungs and busted a rib on the way out. good arrows, good broadheads. thanks for the prior advice.

Yup, nothing wrong with that. I've been bowhunting for three years, and thus far I've graduated from grouse to rabbits, and spent lots of money doing it...

hey way to go...I'm in exactly the same boat...its my first year bowhunting i also started with lots of practice in the spring...i just havent gotten my deer yet! i only hope that a nice small buck happens by...if its any size at all i might get the nerves and i have enough trouble shooting straight as it is! congrats.
