as the title states, whats the best hunting recurve bow under 500$ i can draw 65lbs and im 6'1 so far im considering the martin mamba and the fred bear super kodiak, if neither of those are the right choice, what is?

either are great bows ... ... I like the Hoyt series of recurves personally but they are a bit over your 5hundy limit

neither of ones you listed will let you down ... shoot both and see which one chooses you

I've handled and shot this bow when it was in the store. Great recurve. Sweet looking and handling bow.

You might find a Chek-Mate TD Hunter 11 used for around $500... they are excellent bows.

I have a chek-mate Falkcon that I bought from a guy on this site that has taken a mit full of deer now. It's a great little bow.

I got a Checkmark TD Hunter with 59# limbs. I might part with it, but I live on the island.

PSE Coyote TD, many choices of poundage, excellent price point at $265.00

Chekmate TD Hunter is my choice...64lbs yew limbs...killed some big critters.

I've always liked the look of the PSE Coyote and also the Hoyt Gamegetter. Look like the best of both worlds to me.

The Coyote TD is a looker, lots of requests to try it at the club, also with extra limbs priced at $120.00 you have the choice of not always practicing with a 60lb pull. I have the 45lb limbs, I'm considering the 55lb extras.
