just got back from 7-23A, what a tough, grown up, huge timber, no cuts new than 15 years area to hunt!! saw no moose, lots of old sign in one spot, no new sigh, saw elk and lots of elk sign, tons of big blackie's but moose???

tough time of year too, maybe during the rut one could call them into the small pocket openings, but now, they are not moving at all.

the bridge is out on the hodda about 7 km from the kennedy siding turn off too.

Anybody have any experience in this area, pointers, as in where to go?? buddy's draw is good until sept 30.

isn't the hodda road in 7-16A?

i.e., it is on the west side of the parsnip, 23 is on the east side. maybe i'm confused

there is a 'hodda' FSR just north of McLeod Lake, which is in 7-16A.

The hodda-coulburn might be in 7-23.

good luck. might be worth drifting the river if you can?

Big big bulls in there. I talked to a hunter 2 yrs ago who shot a 54" bull in 7-23A.

There is also another place where you can hunt moose quite successfully within that zone. Its true much of it is grown in but its prime habitat right now.

Lots of moose in there! I know its an over grown nightmare but if you stay along the river and get away from the road your odds are good. Good for bears too!

7-23 is a consistent producer for moose AND elk...lets just say very consistent. Personally I prefer the overgrownness in there, but to each their own. Perhaps most folks road hunt there @ 60km/hr hoping to catch a bull on the road, and that's suited me just fine...keep riding buddy...my bull's coming.
