First Day of Grouse Season in 1-6

was out this morning, seen every thing but grouse! herd of elk, 1 deer, 1 bear, and a very convincing pigeon.

I WAS a black lab today in 1-6 and holy cow it was a hot day for hunting. The boss stepped up his game and took down two nice Blues that he let me pick up.

This is me and my buddy Leon on a little day hike last week looking for birds. We saw a couple of nice blues this day.

All totalled over 20 ruffies and a dozen blues (7 blues today alone) seen in the past week, within 15 miles of Courtenay. They are out there, and are willing to play.

The dog on the left is my Spirit. On the right is Leon, a friends dog that she lets me take for long walks. Leon tore up a pad on our last walk so he missed the opener.

I was out walking trails for 6 hours yesterday and flushed one, but never got a shot.

Going to work another area today.
