Looking for a ATV side by side, I want to make use of the dollar strength and see if I can score one south side - but where to look?

Do not use International for any reason - they purchase mostly from auctions and rarely do they have quality product. Most of their product comes from rental fleets - not really want you want for your own personal machine. My cousin is in the automotive broker business and says that they don't have a good reputation as far as the product quality and standing buy their product.
Just my 2 cents

Look on www.cycletrader.com (http://www.cycletrader.com)

Depending on how far you are willing to go you will be able to find a new Suzuki KingQuad 4x4 for less than US$4000. They can be had just across the border for US$4599.

@ 2x4x16 - I believe International just goes to the states and buys new bikes and ships them back. I regularly see them towing a big flat-deck full of new bikes up Hwy 99.

That may be true of new machines but they also sell a lot of used, at least they did a little while ago, I have not looked in a while since I ave my own now.
But one can purchase directly from the US.
Save a bunch - broker fees are not that bad.

I don't know about the used ones. You don't need to spend money on a broker - it is very easy to import a vehicle. The only time you need a broker is if the vehicle is coming in for commercial purposes. And you are right, you can buy the same quad and save thousands.

Be carefull when buying in the States, I know Polaris will not warranty it in Canada. Check out Spectra Sports in Williams lake, huge sale on now just picked up another one for the wife.

I got a 09 kingquad 750 from holeshot in langley for $9300 out the door. International has a warrenty for here but read the fine print, any major repairs it goes back to the US for warrenty work. Shipped back on your dollar. Mind you the chances of that happening is small. Internationals price was 9100 out the door on the same quad.

if you save 600 to 1000 on price warranty really means nothing . I just bought a Polaris 500 Sportsman from spectra in williams lake for 6700 out the door price. I paid more than that when I bought my little arctic cat 300 in 03.:-D

I agree if your saving that much. In most cases you probably will save that or more.
Like buying a Can-am - Canadian company, made in mexico sold for 3-4000$ less in the States compared to Canada LOL

I take it $6700 is for a used one? what year? km?

I am going to contact spectra and see what they have at what prices, maybe not such a good idea to go down south if the boys up here have decent prices. what I do know is in K town the prices are stupid high and I have had enough forking over to locals that at the end of the day give not much more than me walking in with a service claim that they still charge me for.

Seen a brand new 2009 Polaris Sportsman 700 in Vernon for $7500.
No brokerage fees. lol
Feel bad for the local guys. They don't make alot of money when selling these units. Then again,. you can't blame a guy for wanting to save money.

Maybe phone or email a bunch of the toy stores and see what they have for '09 blow out pricing.

I feel bad for the guys who buy a ATV out of the US or intnational motors and then try to have warranty work done or deal with the recalls that every manufacturer has on a regular basis.
They wont touch it.:icon_frow
