My friend and I were out scouting today and we ran into these. Just wondering if they are cougar tracks? Did a bit of searching on the web but not 100%

The claws look very prominent, they may be wolf tracks. Hard to tell in the mud.

I'm saying wolf too...you're unlikely to see the claw marks with cat tracks but that muddy mess makes it hard to tell.

I will go with wolf tracks due to claw marks. But, under various conditions wolf tracks can be mistaken for cougar tracks. Here is a good set of cougar tracks. They are generally rounder than wolf tracks,

The mud makes it a little harder to tell but I would say wolf due to the fact that they are pointier.

Woof tracks....

Cougar have the double humps in the front pad, like a bobcat.

That's very interesting. Thanks guys! My first thought was a cat or like jelvis said a small bear. Another friend of mine shot a wolf a couple of years back near kamloops, and he has a picture of the paw in his hand with a leather work glove on and it was the same size!!! I couldn't believe how big it was.

Definitely not a bear track and not a cat with the claw marks and shape of the back pad... I think it's some sort of dog... could be a wolf... was it remote w/ no other human tracks around?

Here's a wolf track from a muley spot:

If the tracks are close to an old back road in the bush, sometimes a person lets there rottwieller out for a crap and people think it's a wild dog when it's a domesticated hound like a big rotty.
Jel have a (hot totty) .. hard to tell a wild dog from a yote or a wolf ... unless your a seasoned trapper ..

We actually spooked 2 does, and spotted the biggest 2 point I've ever seen. I thought there had to be some more points there, but just a BIG 2. I'm not sure if he was covered in ticks or something though, he had black and gray patches all over. Looked like the hair was rubbed off or something. It didn't look like mud either, no way I would have shot him looking like that.

Kinda, the tracks came from the bush and headed across the road back into the trees. It didn't appear to be walking down the road like a domestic dog would.

Defiantly wolf tracks the first picture on your left shows the nail marks in the mud as for the paw pads are like night and day from a cat..
