Deer attractions

I was in Back Country the other day, in Fort St John, and I noticed that they have a whole bunch of stuff for sale that is supposed to create a mineral lick sort of situation to bring deer in. Anyone able to speak about whether or not that sort of stuff works? I dont live in deer country, but Id still like to know if that stuff actually does what it claims. Thanks.

A plain old salt block has worked great for me..... In 4 weeks I've got just about 200 pictures, 0 cows, 1 bear, and a hole lot of deer. Placement is key,

I have a wicked recipe for deer lick cost is around 40 bucks makes around 100LBS of deer loving goodness.
