The thread for the september hunts was, in my opinion, a successful thread. It hasn't had any posts for a couple weeks so I'll assume it's run its course. So lets hear about your plans for october hunting trips.

Who would like to share what their hunting trips planned for October are?

Don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm not looking for the GPS coordinates to your honey spot. Just share the region or MU and what species your after. Is it a trophy hunt? Is it a meat hunt? Is it the first time your going after a particular species? Just share a story.

But only for october. If this thread goes well I'll start another one for november, at a later date.

I'll go first.

First I will be heading to the peace river region for moose, and then toward the end of the month, region 3 for mulies.

Any one thinking of hunting 7-11 might as well forget about it. the wolves have eaten all the moose and all the deer and the odd b-bear. So if you head to that region bring lots of ammo for the wolves because you won't be shooting at anything else.

Early Oct region 3 for mulies and take a look for the elusive spike fork Moose, then onto Region 8 mulies and white tail for the end of the month. Hopefully all goes well.

I've always liked October for hunting in regon 4, as the heat is usually to a tolerable level now and it is far more comfortable getting out and about. Leaves for the most part have dropped, and visibility is increased. Treed birds are easier to spot if I've a mind for them. Perhaps morning frosts a minor problem, but still hunting those sneaky Whitetail is more like a stroll in the park than pushing through tight leafy brush or wading through knee deep snow. Mulies are watching - always watching.

First few days in october region 3 mulies, october long region 5 mulies, week long trip in region 7 for moose and the end of October cougars... In Vegas!

I'd really like to get a whitetail in the doe season and a buck too while I'm at it. Been hunting since 1968 and I've never got a whitetail deer. I've never seen a whitetail buck.

Always ready for a mulie and a spike-fork moose too.

Region 8 or 3, wherever I can find them.

Waterfowling too if I can't get out of town for a deer hunt. I can do that in a morning and be back home to do some work in the afternoon.

Quadra island for a bt doe on the thanksgiving weekend, northeast of pemberton for a mulie and a b bear, and all the waterfowling I can squeeze in around the lowermainland.
Then a quest for a trophy buck in reg 3 sometime in november.
Of course I'll always be one the lookout for grouse pheasant and bunnies etc and I'll be packin a moose tag just in case frotune smiles on me. I'd hate to think how disappointed I'd be if that elusive spike/fork came around the corner and I wasn't carrying a tag.

Moose Oct. 15, 4-25, LEH

Mule + whitetails same time. I belive this is any buck for both during october. Will travel back and forth from 4-25/MU 4-24 ( I think the deer/elk hunting is better in 4-24) for these guys, and maybe have an elk tag for the last 5 days of the 6+ point season; would hate myself for not having a tag and seeing a leagal bull. Having the LEH moose + the month of october really puts just about everything on the menu.
