I think you're ready to dress up in camo & facepaint and go prancing about the forest in a few weeks. Don't bother to pack a knife

I think that you will have great success on the 3D archery course.

How heavy is your arrow...what's your draw length? I have the same bow at the same draw weight. I would have expected that you would have been a little over 290.

It's all academic though... it's bloody fast.

280 fps will pass thru just about any animal you want to shoot at, providing you do your part and put the shaft where it belongs...

You're good to go for this season and many more to come.

Not sure how heavy the arrow is. Draw length is 29"

I figured it would kill, was just kind of wondering what the norm is compared to advertised speed.

Nice ... Thast what I get out of My 3D bow ...101st 53 pounds and 336 grain arrows

thetackdriver gets 285 outta his Fred Bear Truth 2 at 70 pounds and a 425 Grain Arrow

My hunting bow a 63 pound Black Ice I get about 265 with a 402 grain arrow ...

I suspect your arrows are about 425-440 grains to get that speed out of a 70 pound 29" Dren depending on your string and accesories on it

Yes, I am on to something- The 3D range is likely the closest you will get to sticking an arrow in an animal.

The advertised speeds are the results of testing the lightest arrows possible (5 grains per pound of bow weight) for a 70 lb bow drawn to a 30" draw length to get the biggest/longest power-stroke that is attainable.

Those advertised results are never part of the real world. I'm getting just under 260 fps with my hunting rig. My target setup gets somewhere in the 290's - since I switched from Fatboys to real arrows.
