first of all thank you. as for the bear, i found a pretty good lookin spot by chance out cruisin with my brother in about mid-march and figured it looked like it was worth putting some effort into. anyways once bear opened i headed up there and went a little futher in to do some exploring and cut a pretty good sized track just off one of the trails. Long story short i ventured out there 6 times and syill had only seen tracks. The seventh time was a last minute evening outing in which my wife was conned into coming along(the first time she has ever gone out hunting anything with me, it's just not really her thing.) we pulled just off the first road and i figured we would bail out there and do some hiking, i get out of the truck and start putting on my gear and she says "there's a bear over there" ya right i said. "No seriously there is" I creep around the back side of my truck and sure enough there is one and a pretty decent one at that. I tell her stay in the truck and dont move (From where the bear was and she was on the passenger side if she got out he would have seen her, but not me on the other side.) I put a shell in the chamber went around front of my truck between the bushes and sat for an ambush, he sauntered right in straight to me and at about 30 yds. he stopped and looked to the side so i nailed him. his pecker hit the dirt like right now, he did get up again and made it about 15 ft. then he was done, and i was a very happy man. I do actually have a video of some of it on you tube titled "Chilliwack bear" there are 3 parts. Thanks again for the help steeleco. Good luck to you all in your coming adventures!!

he was 6'2" nose to tail and i actually donated his hide to a friend at the local hunting shop and i am still waiting for a skull measurement. $1200.00 was just not in the budget right now for a rug.

I too saw the videos. Very well done. 6'2" for a first bear especially in the LML is a great start. Good call on the rug, wait for a colour phase of that size. You'll find the money when it happens.

BTW your welcome!!
