The elk where eating these weeds ,can someone tell me what this is :confused:..

It's Sitka Valarian. It will grow a lot bigger in the next month.

Here is a link. I like sitka valerian. It's a sign that you are way up high.

The leaves suggest it is from the "milkweed family", possibly "asclepias speciosa"

i agree with arcadia definetly sitka valerian. i also know it from hundreds of surveys

I'm not an botanist, so I'll take your word on it. It's more likely "sitka valarian" would be growing up high in elk country than most milk weeds, but I did notice that your reference showed the leaves more pointed and sharp then the pictures posted, and the only other plant that came close was from the milkweed family.

They guys above are correct...it's Sitka Valerian aka Valeriana sitchensis

Thats a long word I will have to wright it down and keep it in my wallet so I don't forget :roll:.
