I hope it will pay off for the opener of bow season ,you see we can shoot any adult animal that shows bone on its head so the 5x5 that I filmed are legal to take in bow season.

I know that I am looking for a bull elk in the 350+ range but if I called in a very nice 5x5 in the bow season I would have to some real quick thinking ,should I take him or let him walk ,this would be a last moment decision.

I have never taken a bull elk with a bow to me any bull elk with a bow is a challenge just to get one on the ground ,something I have to really think about in the next month ??:confused:??.

I will be headed back out for a weeks camping scouting in the third week of Aug to see if the deer ,elk are in areas that I saw them on my last scouting trip in July..

Any hassle with a license or anything on that Wayne? I think the safety benifits would encourage the logging companies to look the other way if you are on their frequency.

@sparkymacker

Shouldn't be any trouble with the radio. The loggers want you to know where they are, and vice versa.

hunter1947

When the 15 of Aug comes I will be going hard trying to pin point where the elk and WT ,Mule deer are.

Have to make sure the elk are in the same place in mid Aug for the opening of bow for the first of Sept ,will see what some areas in the WK have to show I might head down there for rifle if it looks good ????.

I have to head back out next weekend and set my trails up for the remainder of the next 4 months.

Hi Wayne,
it's been nice watching your threads and seeing what you are up to. Living the dream out there!
Where did you purchase your radio? Did they have to program the different frequencies or can you use all of them? Looks like a nice unit.
