Anybody see the "weather window" pic of the goats on Global TV tonight ?
Who"s been up there and observed goats ?
Is there enough to maybe have an LEH ?
Any pics from members ?

Was in the area last fall and counted 26 goats in one group I hunt the area every year and it seem they are coming back.

I saw some goats on Welsh Peak last time I was up there on a climbing trip - quite a few years back now. Rough & steep terrain!

My understanding is that there was an LEH for Chwk goats up until the early 80's when it was shut down for potential over-harvest reasons. I guess the goats were just too easily accessible. I have found old rusty 303 Brit rounds way the hell up in the alpine so someone was shooting bucks or goats up there back in the day.

Check out Williamson Lake up past Foley lake...amazing country...lots of goats up there and a nice lake for an afternoon swim.
I always figured this area would be good for alpine BT's but after countless hours of hiking/glassing I've come to the conclusion that there is just too much pressure by hikers/climbers in and around the main hiking areas of the chwk valley's.
