When I was a kid in Richmond (back in the 60's), we used to see deer and black bear around the bog area between #4 and #5 road, and down by the south arm. Now it's all warehouses and "dream homes". I always wonder if there might still be some deer on the east side of Lulu island around the cranberry fields.

My brother saw deer in Richmond once they jumped a fence off the south end of sidaway and ran down the road about 10 feet in front of his car, scared the crap out of him but none were hurt.
then the wife and I saw a 3x3 in a guys driveway near Chilliwack on Friday, we stopped to have a look and a 2 point stepped out behind him.
and about three seconds a 4x5 wandered over from the other side.
why not in an open season......

Or some guys drive way

There are some deer east of #6 road all the way to the east side of Lafarge cement plant. Saw a real nice buck road kill at #7 road a while back, and I occasionally see deer along the north-south tracks just east of the cement plant.

I once saw three or four deer feeding in a back yard in the 68th and 148th area of surrey. It was about 3 in the morning.

I've heard there is a decent population of deer on the Riverview hosptial grounds. I've seen some feeding along the lougheed too.

I know of a place on No. 6 rd where you can see deer every morning still. I've seen some on 7 rd and 6 rd only and in the Richmond nature park I've seen some tracks. I have a video and some pictures but I can't get them from my phone to my computer.

Leave them crazy deer alone - it's not safe to eat that meat anyway.

One afternoon in September my wife and I stopped on 264th St south of the freeway and watched this mongo black tail with double drop tines for a while. No camera just a very itchy finger. If they ever demilitarize that area there will be some great archery kills made.

my family owned a christmas tree farm in aldergrove near 264th and the freeway. We lost tons of trees to deer scrapes every fall. Most mornings we could see blacktail in our fields/gardens/front lawn. If you go north of the freeway on 264th you will see some really strong numbers of blacktail as well. We used to get the odd fox in there as well, but mostly coyotes.

We saw a three point in Glen Park (East 23rd Ave between Knight and Fraser) a year ago. It blew my mind. I don't ever expect to see that again!

Would be kinda cool to have one of those 'critter cams' hanging off one of those urban bucks and watch what happens day to day in the life...acutally it would be cool to have a live feed cam on a mountain blacktial to see juts how cagey they are 24-7...
