looking to go to a lake this weekend within 3 hours of prince george that is fairly small and remote where i could pull out the fly rod and try for a few fish and maybe a swim too. a little beach would be nice to have to keep the gf happy since its supposed to be 30 degrees out.

any one know of any kickin around

Try Cicutta or Rum Cache off of the Holy Cross Road out of Vanderhoof. Fish on every cast.:-D

ive been to rum cashe lake when i was a kid but the fish seemed to be getting smaller, i should try that lake again soon.

ended up going to Tagai Lake down the Pelican FSR. lots of small fish under 12" never caught one bigger than that. caught most of them on a tom thumb, and a red doc sprotly seemed to be good

Narrow lake is good. just keep an eye out, lots of big G-bears in that area, seen quite a few on the road in. Dove that lake a lot, and fly fished it plenty. can be lots of topwater action for tiny trout at the east end.

the Bowron/hagan river confluence is a nice spot to.

neither are very remote, but through the week you're usually alone at both spots.
