I'm wondering who's shot the Savage Fcxp3. I'm thinking of buying one but I would like to know the pro's and con's of the rifle in the field. Main reason I'm looking at that rifle is because the package is fairly cheap and I wont be too worried to have it exposed on a 4wheeler come moose season.

The scope is junk, but will work. The rifle is good quality. If you are value minded, better off to buy a savage or stevens rifle and put a half decent scope on it to start off with.

Get a stevens and a leupold vx-1 and your set :-D

My brother in law had that gun, the recoil was just too much for what the action sits on. Just make sure the action is bedded properly, the plastic pillars are not very strong. Scope will fail. I think the smaller calibers hold up fine.

I can score the bushnell elite 3200 for pretty cheap. This rifle would be basically to take over my .303brit.

scrap the scope, put a decent scope on it and its a potential tack driver..... very good guns for the money.... buddy of mine had one. was a decent shooter for sure.

I recently(today) aquired one of these for a steal of a price. Yes pre-accutrigger... but I'm sure this hasn't been hunted with. I was going to use it as trade bait(don't need anymore 300s)... but now I'm think of having it turned into a 264 winmag... decisions decisions
