Sitka Gear sizing [Archive]

I'm about to buy some sitka gear for the hunting season and i'm pretty sure I know what I want. The only problem is that i've heard that the sizing is odd and I am just wondering if anyone can confirm this or not. I am 6 feet tall, and 190lbs. Would a large Jacket fit me? or should I order XL??

I just talked to a friend of mine that recieved some gear and he needed to go a size bigger so returned it.

I am the same size as you and the extra large jacket fits better than the large.I have slightly broader shoulders than most guys our size
If your younger and in shape i would suggest the extra large.

Sitka gear is very weird for sizing. I have a very large order coming in the mail any day!!!!!!! Some of my friends already have the gear and they all love it. Anyway as for sizing it is very weird Iam 140 lbs. I tried on the nimbus in large and it is like a dress and I tried on a 90% in a large and it is perfect. So you are best off to try on whatever you are buying before purchasing. Thus being said Iam getting the new stratis Jacket in forest optifade. I have not tried ont his coat and have not seen it in stores yet so Iam really hoping the large fits me. As for yourself if i was going in blind I would definately opt for the X-large over the large.

Recommend going with the XL for your size. As others have mentioned already the gear can fit you differently, although I prefer it just a little baggy to allow for layers.

I think there sizing is fine. I finds its my optimism that is off. I am 6ft and 235lb and wear XL. If I put on 2 more lbs I will be screwed.

6'1' 185lbs 90% Jacket XL. Leaves enough room for some additional light layering.

It definatly fits on the small size, The XL 90% fits tight on me, have a tough time getting my hands through the cuffs

Thanks guys. I'm heading down to Nanaimo this weekend and i'm going to try some on before buying it.
