My dad used to see deer a lot more often back in the 60s here in the fraser valley when a lot of the farm fields still had alot of tall grass and trees and was not as open as it is now, or converted to corn fields. My grandpa saw a buck a few years ago while fishing off our property but I got excited when I got a phone call this morning while at work that while cutting the fields my grandpa noticed deer tracks in some mud.

And while I was in the barn this afternoon while they were bringing silage in a doe trotted across the field through the wind rows. And right after supper it came up the laneway and walked right behind the houses. Got the camera out and got some good photos for how dark it was getting. Not my finger by the way, tractor for cover.

Thanks for posting.

With land costing what it does, every little bit needs to produce a crop, and with grain going for what it is now, cornfields yield alot more than hay. I don't think we'll see any woodlots after a bit.
