Anyone have any idea who sells large coolers? By large I mean over 100 quart. Wholesale carries a 100 quart coleman marine type cooler. I know you used to be able to get a 150 quart. I'll be heading out for an LEH moose trip in November and am pretty sure I may need more cooler space then I have right now.

As already posted Costco usually has the 128 and 162 qt igloo's. Aside from that any marine or saltwater fishing stores should have them. They may not stock them but should be able order the 128 162 and 250qt Igloo's or the 150qt colemans.
Cabela's has some expensive ones http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/common/search/search-results1.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&hasJS=true&_D%3AhasJS=+&_D%3Asort=+&sort=all&Ntt=coolers&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1&selectedPerPage=72&firstPage=true

P.S Have you looked for the smaller sized insulated fish totes?

Lots of stores wont bother anymore as the cost of them has gone through the roof. After shipping etc theres no point in ordering them as they make next to nothing on them staying competitive with pricing with the guys who buy in quantity.

Saw a cheap setup that I gave thumbs up to.
Guy had 8 of the 98? L. Rubbermaid vinyl totes
Made a plywood box lined with 2" blue styrofoam, and some vapour barrier.
Deboned meat intoi the totes
Totes into the box
then dumped in a few bags of ice between the totes
Water leaked away instead of accumulating , planned of course
Said the plan was to dismantle for storage til needed again, less space required.

You wont need a cooler in November. Hang it in a tree over night, then wrap in tarp and bring it home.

We have brought home moose and caribou from northern BC in late September and Like I said just tarped it (make sure air can get around) and if its real warm throw in a few ice blocks.

If you are set on a cooler try making your own. Make it from plywood (you can custom size it to fit your needs or space and line with rigid pink styrofoam from Home Depot.

Thanks for the tips boys. I understand that the weather in Nov is cool-cold and I won't need a cooler to just transport meat if we harvest an animal in the last week. But if all goes well, and we get a moose/deer in the first couple days, we'll have meat cut/wrapped/froze before our trip home and I'd like to keep it froze for the 14 hour trip. I usually have been taking a medium size freezer on my early Sept Hunts, but it won't fit in my buddy's truck bed with the quad and such. Just looking at other options.

That's the one we bought initially, but once full we couldn't move it, as well it didn't fit in the camper door!! We took it back and opted for 2 of the smaller 70l units for only a few bucks more.

Either way they're both great. 5 days in the bush over the May long W/E and we came home with near as much ice as we took.
