Any idea how long it takes for Cabelas to do a warranty exchange for a pair of hiking boots?
Returned these 6 weeks ago and still no word from them. These are the Meindl Canada boots by the way.

I wouldn't buy another pair thats for sure. Great fun walking for 3 hours with your heel flapping all over.

Curious as to which model and how old they are.

The Canada boot and they are 10 years old. They have a lifetime warranty on them. It's not that I did not get my moneys worth, it's the fact that they need to start addressing the quality of their boots.

Cabelas lifetime or Miendl lifetime ?
Did you contact Cabelas for return procedure ?
Do you have tracking info for your shipment ?
What did they give for a shipping time ?

Its a Cabela's warranty, I spoke to them and they qualify for a return. Their return office is in Ontario and then they ship them down to Nebraska. I have all the tracking data and they received them about 6 weeks ago. Might just order some Hanwags in the mean time.

Hope it works out
Not sure of the relation of the Canada store with the US chain, seems they won't carry everything
They also don't accept the Cabelas gift certificates, which have no specific currency type as value.

Thats what you get for poopin' on your heels!

I think it is a warehouse in Ontario, to avoid delays with brokers customs etc. so if you order from Cabela's US and they have it at the warehouse it will arrive quicker. I read it online or in a catalogue recently. I don't know if they stock the Manitoba store from there. Whoever you shipped with should be able to track it and Cabelas should do the same once they have it. Been a long time since I returned anything.

if not having the boot is keeping you out of the field, i would call them and explain that to them. cabelas seem to have incredible customer service. Call them in the states too, dont try to deal with the canada people. Ten years is pretty good life for a pair of boots if you are putting miles on them every season, i know id be happy with that.

I called Lathrop and Sons today and was told Hanwag will have a improved version of their Trapper model out in August. It will be a inch higher and the rubber boot protector will cover more of the bottom leather. They are calling it the Elite, same price as the current Trapper apparently. The Meindls have a problem with the soles rotting off as you can tell with mine and have heard the same report from others as well.
