anyone wanna help a newbie out and give me a hint on a good area for grouse hunting... the best i could come up with is lac la juene

You find them around here anywhere where there is trees and enough cover. Just leave the valley floor and head up into the timber. They like getting their grit (gravel) off the back roads.

so the old logging roads is a good place to start? do they have a better time of day or just any time>?

around the town, go into crown land,they are every where.

alright cool, i will go up lac la bois and lac la juene area this year and check it out

Find the old logging road, grown over with clover and such, and a little gravel laying around. Twice a day they'll come out to feed. This may turn out to be a lousy fall for grouse as May was one of the wettest in recent history. Keep your fingers crossed.

Early morning and Evening are the best times of day to see them on the road.
If you have a pooch to hunt them with find an old road and walk it in the morning. If you dont have a dog get one!

I find 9 - 11 and 4 - 6 are the best times. Suns hitting the trails or the suns getting ready to set
