My first black bear!

Sorry it took me so long to post this one I have been trying to figure out the picture process. This is my first black bear, I got him on June 13 just before the end of the season. He was about 5 1/2 feet long not bad I thought for my first one. I spine shot him just over the front shoulders it was a beauty shot one of my best. He dropped right where I shot him. I got him south of Revelstoke about 100km. Anyways here are the pictures let me know what you guys think. I am sure somebody will say it was too small or too risky of a shot but I'd still like to hear it.

That is a gun that I got for free actually. It is a 1917 Enfield 30-06. It was my first kill with that gun and she didn't let me down.

Laying on the ground gives a great idea of measurement, except, how tall are you? Good bear by the way, and don't worry about size. Shooting a smaller one means you have to get another one in the fall, with twice as much fun out of the season.

shorts, flips flops and army helmets is how I hunted all this spring... I didn't get a crack at any because it was my buddy's first time out... I'm envious of you bear

I shot a bear one spring wearing a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops:-D I was taking the wife for a "picnic" and well a good bear arrived LOL...

The shot was about 150 yards and the reason i was laying next to the bear was so that you guys could see the length because sometimes pictures can be decieving. By the way I am 5' 11" tall.
