It looked like to me the bear had come through the tent. I'd also like to know what happend to the the bear. His hind end seemed to messed up pretty good. (you think they shot him in the ass?)

Terrible. Looking at it gives me flashbacks to a time when I worked in my job as animal behaviourist. I was inspecting a safari park to make plans how to improve the tiger habitat. One of the guys stepped out of the car and walked to a pond (there was no reason to that). Next thing we saw was a tiger pouncing at him. There was nothing we could do for him. By the time we reached on the back seat for the guns it was all over. Poor guy was in a terrible mess and died by the time the ambulance arrived.
I never get that picture out of my head, neither the scene when I had to go and tell his family.

Years later, in Africa, we had to helplessly watch how a rhino trampled a researcher into the ground.

In Russia I had to witness a kid being eaten by a group of polar bears. The mother hoisted the kid over the barrier so he can have a closer look at the bears. Well, that he got and more.

All accidents I witnessed where the result of stpidity on the part of humans.

Over at cgn someone says they know the story behind this. Now - i trust what i read on the web very little :) but apperently the bear came thru the tent at night, and did the damage he did in seconds. The bear was shot by another guide (the injured man is apperently a guide) and the victim lived.

Nasty business.

That guy would look like Daffy after a run-in with Elmer's shotgun if tried to drink a glass of water!
