Well I thought Post this up, Its been awhile since I shot him but better late than never. Not too much of a story behind him. My hunting partner and myself had been putting quite a bit of time into this area and knew that there were bears in the the area, so we knew it only be a matter of timing. If I remember correctly we saw a sow and two cubs early in the afternoon all three color phase brown. The cubs were pretty much blonde. It was kinda funny how it all went down, when we were in the areas where we were seeing good sign we were always very concerned with being quite and watching wind direction. So we always got of the quad and hiked. After hunting all evening and finishing our usual routine of clear cuts we made our way back to quad with no success. With only an hour and a bit of light left we decided that we would just quickly take the quad and burn up to the slashes where we had been seeing the sign. Well we burn around a corner and there he is feeding in the slash about 75 yards away. He sees us right away and starts to walk away, We knew that he was no monster but his coat was nice. We jump of the quad and my partner asks " you going to take him?" Yah. The Bear stops for a moment to take one last look before he was planning on jumping into the timber. And unfortunatly for him that was a mistake. Boom. I put one right behind he shoulder and drop him right in his tracks. Shot him through both lungs and blew a whole in his spine the size of a golf ball. He growned once and then went to sleep. We gave him a bit and then went up and took a look. Set up took some pics, and then dumped his guts and then took him home to skin out for a rug. Well for my first bear im pleased and am now looking for my monster! We taped him out at 5' 8'' . I have been trying to figure out how to add the pics for the past hour and have been stuggling. im going to give it try. http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/hunting2010_006_2.jpg?5063 (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=19349&size=big&cat=)
