for the octpber hunt i would take a wall tent and camp back up thehalfway valley. the weather is usually good or at least not bad enough to discourage camping out. that way you will save money and a ton of travel time

Helgie Tomptar might have room too. You'll get a booklet with your draw that will give you a bunch of contact info.

give your head a shake i live and hunt here year round... so why do they close moose 7-20 7-21 7-32-735 for two weeks hmmm... makes me think you don't want anyone hunting in your area during the rut. the elk are rutting in mid september silly!!

Sept 28 is usually full rut where I hunt up around Ootsa Lake, I figured you are more north and more inland so the rutt would happen earlier than ootsa lake.

Thanks for your info on this thread, especially as you live in the area. I've been going through my maps and talking to a few people who have hunted in the Pink Mt area, I'm hearing you have to pay to cross certain lands to get to the hunting area??? I'm leaning to setting up a camp, and not have as much travel time. Anyway thanks again, lots of planning to do.

good idea you can go around the ranch and wont have to pay... but it could be really muddy if it is not freezing yet.here is a pic of where to look for the big one.
