Final day of the spring bear season and Vortex Hunter and I bagged ourselves a boar.

Though it is on Vortex's tag it's a first for either of us

I figure it to be about 5'5ish, maybe 2-3 years old and about 250-300lbs. Nice coat, make a good rug or drape it over my couch. Gave us a nice clear broad side shot, musta ran about 20 yards before it dropped.

The memorable moment; when we rolled it over to cut it to bleed it out which collapsed the lungs and expelled all the air making it growl. Nick musta jumped about 20ft in the air haha.

Sounds like a fatty at that weight for length! Yeah, that wind noise can certainly make you jump the first time you ear it, lol.

Been there, after climbing a steep hill and thick bush to retrieve my buddies bear unarmed. It's funny now!!

This thread is useless without pics! Good on you for getting your first bear! Way to get er done! 300lbs must have been as wide as he was long for 5'5"!

sorry, I'll get the pics up as soon as I have time... been really busy with a bunch of stuff that came up today.

And I'm only guessing it's size, I'm not too sure how to properly size it, as for it's weight, it was definitely a pig, the 2 of us had a hard time huffin it around to where we could clean it and not much easier once it was gutted. One thing is for sure, will be quartering it on site before we think about looking for another one haha

Here's the rest of the pics, sorry it took so long getting them up. Didn't get done butchering till about midnight last night and today was running around returning defective merchendise and diagnosing what I know believe is a blown head gasket in my car from the trip back from hope. We shot him down in Skagit valley, probably about 3km shy of the Ross Lake park border. If anyone can judge a size by the pic I'd be amazed yet appreciative of the input lol. use my rifle with the bipod as a scale, standard stock, 26in barrel
