In the next week or 2 I will be building my straw back stop for my archery target. I will be getting a 3D dear target to put in front of it. My question is this, which 3D target would be the best to buy that will handle broad heads.

Nun don`t shoot broadheads at a 3d target . and a straw backed will not be anygood either . A bale of peet moss is about the best i have found for broadheads.

You'll really, really shorten the life of your 3D target if you use broadheads on it. Not a good idea unless money isn't a factor like it is for the majority of us.

Best to get a target that is "rated" for broadheads. Then practice to your heart's enjoyment.

A broadhead will cut your target to rat sh#t in no time flat. Seems like a waste of money to me.

Thanks guys. I should mention that the broad heads I was thinking of using where the mechanical type with practice blades. That's if I get good enough with the bow and try hunting with it.

The GlenDel buck has a replaceable midsection that will take broadheads.

Still pretty expensive when the replaceable mid-section wears out pre-maturely through the use of broadheads.

If I recall correctly the replaceable section is about half the price of the target in the first place. Could get pricey.

I've shot the crap out of my yellowjacket block with broad heads Burke. Couple years old now, best $80 so far !! ( Vernon Outdoor Store ) if they still carry them.
