It could have been worse, and got NIL, although the moose close to home was the one I was really hoping for, along with every other local guy, plus many from out of region.

My friend pulled another moose draw withy his family (same zone as last year).

Could be worse, like said, you just have to travel a little more to hunt almost any species in BC.

If you were in the later bull season the odds are definitely lower, but still pretty high considering the 66% reduction in your odds. As I understand it, if you draw moose or rosies, regardless of what MU, your odds get dropped 66% the next year.

Just got off the phone with my regular hunting partner LT (308LOVER).
Being down is an understatement!
This is his 23rd consecutive NIL for moose near PG. LT always chooses the area around PG that has the best odds.
LT also managed a NIL again as always for an antlerless deer.
Is something fishy or is it just incredibly bad luck?

3rd year putting in. This was my first year of the infamous NIL. NIL on shared moose and NIL on my muley doe.
The kicker was that we put in for moose in a region near where a friend has a cabin. A neighbour of one of the shared hunt is new to hunting and asked where we'd put in and put in his own shared hunt in the same region and got the draw. Newbie luck, I guess. I'm counting on the GOS whitey now. I'll just make sure I'm wearing my blaze orange.

Yup just the special hunts. Regular LEH was status quo and why they were listed in the same synopsis that had the cancellation notice for the special hunts. If the regular hunts were cancelled, there would not have been hunt codes listed.

As listed:

Roosevelt Elk and Mountain Sheep Special Limited Entry Draws Cancelled for 2010 The Special LEH draws for B.C. residents for mountain sheep and Roosevelt elk hunts have been cancelled for 2010. The special draw applications will not be sold through Service BC sites or from vendors. If a person has already purchased these applications they should apply for a refund through the Fish and Wildlife Branch, see address below.The auctioning of a mountain sheep tag and a Roosevelt elk tag at the Wild Sheep Foundation’s 2010 convention was also cancelled.The Fish and Wildlife Branch will work with various stakeholder associations over the course of the next year to determine if these hunts can be reinstated"

Hopefully the 'sides' can come to an agreement and these draws are brought back next year.

Dear Minister Penner,

The members of BC Wildlife Federation wish to express their appreciation to you and your staff
for the earlier draw of the 2010 Limited Entry Hunting (LEH).
Throughout the province, resident hunters have appreciated having an earlier draw to allow
them to plan their hunting opportunities for their successful LEH draws. It is important to
recognize that resident hunters just like non- resident hunters need the opportunity to plan and
make arrangements for their hunting opportunities in BC; especially the fact that most hunters
need to make provisions to book their annual vacation at the beginning of the year.
While the efforts to conduct the earlier draw were very appreciated, the membership still fully
expects to have the majority of LEH draws conducted so results would be available at the end of
February. This would accommodate their need to book vacation time, plan for the hunt, make
the appropriate purchases and arrangements, to facilitate their hunt. It is also when the Guide
Outfitters are assigned their quotas for the upcoming season.
Please convey the appreciation of BC Wildlife Federation to your staff!

Yeah the odds on my 5-02D doe draw were 7.8:1 this year, up from the usual 3 or 4 to 1.

I'm thinking the fact that they reduced the number of authorizations in 5-14A from over 800 to less than 300 this year may have had something to do with it. I know I applied in a different area because of that. Probably lots of people did the same.

If you are checking online for results, it won’t take very long once the draw is run to get the results online. When they are ready, the website will update to say that the 2011 Limited Entry Draw for Spring Grizzly and Early Sheep is now run and you may check your results using your hunter number. Until the draw is done there will be no link to input your hunter number.

Just got my results in the mail from last fall's application.
GRIZZLY BEAR 0.0:1

I'm not sure, but I think that means I had no chance in the draw. I know the app was for one of the sections of 4:22. Does that mean they didn't draw any tags for my area? That's what I'm thinkin' but purely speculation. Thoughts?

Hey guys I'm new to this whole LEH stuff and i was just wondering how I would know if I got drew a tag or not? I've been on the government website and typed in my hunter number and all it says (Successfully Drawn Hunt Code(s): no successful hunt codes). The thing is I only sent my apps in as of the beginning of last week. Is it saying that just because they haven't got to me yet or did I not win? Any help on this fact would be awesome! Thanks alot guys cheers

are you talking the 2011 LEH season? Your cards have to be in to Victoria MAy 20th (gotta double check that) and results usually come out june/july
